On 18th December 2018 the European Commission initiated an online public discussion about protection of design samples in the Europe Union (EU) in order to determine to what extent the existing legislation pertaining to the protection of design samples (Directive 98/71/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the legal protection of designs and Council Regulation (EC) No 6/2002 on Community designs) still ensures effective protection of rights and exercise of these rights throughout the EU Member States.
Professionals from the field, designers and all entrepreneurs working in the field, representatives from the public sector, especially representatives of the intellectual property offices, judges and scholars are invited to participate in the public discussion before 31st march 2019 by completing an online survey.
We hereby draw your attention that for the purposes of transparency potential participants of the public discussion must register with the EU Transparency Register (https://ec.europa.eu/info/about-european-commission/service-standards-and-principles/transparency/transparency-register_lv).
