20.03.2020 The Data State Inspectorate clarifies that according to Article 6 (1) (d) of the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation), the processing of personal data is necessary to protect the vital interests of the data subject or other natural person (for example, in cases surveillance of an epidemic is needed) and in accordance with Article 9 (2) (i) and (j), the processing of special categories of personal data (health data) is permitted where the processing is necessary in the public interest (for example, serious cross-border threats to health).
