The State Secretary of the Ministry of Justice participates in the awards ceremony of the European Inventor Award 2019 20.06.2019
This was the fifth year when Raivis Kronbergs, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, represented Latvia in the awards ceremony of the European Inventor Award. This year the award ceremony took place in Vienne, Austria. The awards were given under five categories – Industry, Research, small and medium-sized enterprises, Non-EPO countries, Lifetime achievement, and public vote.
Unfortunately, this year none of the Baltic States were among the finalists or recipients of the award; therefore, R. Kronbergs, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, emphasizes: “The social development and economic growth of the country as well as well-being largely depend on the creativity of the people, inventing potential and innovative things and works. The motivation of people to invent and patent new things depend on the State’s support; therefore, our duty is to ensure an effective patent system. I truly hope that in the years to come Latvian inventors will be noticed among the best European inventors and nominated for the European Inventor Award, because we truly have things to be proud of and to be noticed for.”
More information on the recipients of the award available in the website of the European Patent Office.
