12.05.2020 On Thursday, 14 May, the Saeima unanimously supported in the final reading the draft laws developed by the Ministry of Justice “Amendments to the Law On Judicial Power” and “Amendments to the Judicial Disciplinary Liability Law”, pursuant to which the immunity of judges in the administrative violation cases is cancelled, as well as it is planned - if circumstances of the offence indicate on disrespectful behaviour of the position of a judge or gross violation of the rules of ethics of judges, the judge may be in addition also called to disciplinary liability.
